LabourNet is an initiative of MAYA(Movement for Alternatives and Youth Awareness), a non-governmental organization based in Bangalore. MAYA supports over 20 informal sector enterprises employing a minimum of 500 informal sector workers.

MAYA has set up a front-end for-profit company to market the products produced by these groups. It has been active at a grass roots level on issues of education and livelihoods. It's education programme supports over 30,000 schools across 9 districts of Karnataka and 2 districts of Andhra Pradesh. MAYA  also supports more than 400 community run early childhood care and education centres in Karnataka.

Mr. Solomon JP, Founder and Chief functionary of MAYA and Ashoka Fellow. Solomon has more than 20 years experience in sustainable development. He is  founder of a successful company MAYA Organic India Private Limited that offers high-end design and marketing services for informal producer groups.  

V. Gayathri, Chief Executive Officer has a doctorate in development studies with more than 15 years experience in both national and international organizations. Before joining LabourNet, Gayathri held a senior management position at ILO, South Asia for 8 years. Her operational experience will contribute to the development and management of LabourNet structure and systems.

Mr. Alex Rodrigues, Head of Finance and Administration As a Core team member of MAYA for the last 11 years, he serves as Director of Finance & Administration. Before joining MAYA, he worked with informal sector groups in Goa and Andhra Pradesh,as well as with international youth organisations in Asia. 

Mr. Puranik Narayana Bhatta,Finance Structuring  An engineering graduate from IIT Bombay and a postgraduate in management from IIM Calcutta, he has worked with Infosys for more than 8years and is one of the founders and is CFO of Exellon Software He is an advisor to LabourNet on strategic and financial issues.

Mr. Jayaram Krishnan, Marketing: A mechanical engineer from Osmania University and a postgraduate in management from IIM Bangalore, he has worked with HCL and IBM and later started his own company Kestone Integrated marketing services. Presently he is the CEO of Kestone. He is an advisor to LabourNet, with particular focus on marketing and product development. 

Mr. Lukose Vallatharai IAS, Advisor: is a senior IAS officer and the former Commissioner of Labour, Karnataka Government. He is currently, the CMD of State Handricaft DEVT. CO He has been actively involved with issues concerning child labour and workers rights.
