Married and living in Gangtok, Sharmila Ghimiray was always passionate about beauty and wellness. Coming from a low middle class family, she volunteered happily to do make-up and hair styles to her friends and relatives during function with little knowledge she had.
Sharmila being a determined and enthusiastic lady wanted to excel in whatever she did by having a thorough knowledge in that field. And it was the beautician field in which she wanted to outshine as it was her passion. Hence on reference from one of her friend, she took part in the LabourNet Beautician course organised in Gangtok L’Oreal center. Though her family was reluctant initially, she later got required support and encouragement from them.
Sharmila being a quick learner encompassed the learning within a short period of time. It was not only the knowledge on beauty and wellness that was imparted in the centre, but also the inter-personal behavior, customer handling skills and the business tricks that built overall required knowledge and confidence in her. With all these she felt her dream of having her own beauty parlour can be realized soon.
With the help of the training certificate received from the L’Oreal centre, Sharmila applied for license for parlour. Once her license was approved and released, she set-up her own parlour in her area with support from her family. Initially her income was Rs. 20000 and gradually with her hard work and dedication and customer handling skills, she was able to build a good customer satisfaction thus increasing her customer base. She has now employed an assistant to facilitate her in her job and to attend to the customer in time. Her parlour is now the talk of the town for the utmost devotion she shows in her work and for providing excellent services. Running successfully and profitably, her parlour has now become one of the reputed parlours in her area.
From a simple housewife to a successful entrepreneur, Sharmila feels she is in cloud nine and credits her success to all the support she received from her family and also for the immense support and encouragement she received from LabourNet training. Also she wants to expand her horizons by setting up another parlour and another.
