I am a young girl from Mandi and live with my family. My family consists of my father who is a daily wage worker and the breadwinner of the family, my mother who is a housewife and an elder and a younger sibling who study in school.
My father’s income alone could not suffice for the whole family. I realized this and had always wanted to shoulder the responsibilities of the family.
After completing school, I initially wanted to enroll for the B.Com degree course, but our Principal suggested me to enroll for the Retail management course instead. We spoke to the counsellor who provided us all the relevant details, post which I enrolled for the course. With this course I gained confidence by taking part in role plays, cultural activities and soft skill improvement classes.
In the end, I would like to thank HPKVN and LabourNet for providing such amazing opportunities to people like me who cannot afford the rising education costs.
